SHOOT DETAILS AT A GLANCE

  • 4 day on location winter hiking, day use, RV camping, hot springs, village of Field, winter sports, view points, and fire management team based shoot that reflect the current policies and programming needs.
  • Up to 8 hours of shooting each day.
  • Images will be used for marketing, presentation, interpretation and corporate communications purposes.
  • Content will connect and resonate with selected Parks Canada Target Markets (Fledgling Families, Middle Age Achievers, Singles Scene, Young Metro) and inspire them to discover the activities and locations showcased.
  • Locations and activities featured below will match the motivations, expectations and experiences of the Target Markets.

  • Including but not limited to Radium Hot Springs, Wapta Falls, Field, Emerald Lake, Fireweed Trails, Paint Pots, Marble Canyon, Haffner Creek, Lake Louise frontcountry campground, Lake Louise lakeshore, Bow Lake, and the Icefields Parkway. Photos will include activities like snowshoeing, ice climbing, cross-country skiing and preparing for avalanche terrain. Most locations are easily accessible but some winter hiking will be required to access some of the locations (e.g., Marble Canyon).

CONTRACTOR QUOTE

COST PER DAY:

$1998.71 CAD/DAY

  • Includes all outlined Pre Shoot Duties above and in the Statement of Work provided by Parks Canada, but excludes any services performed by the contractor related to talent organization including but not limited to: social media casting calls, correspondence, scheduling and payouts. Should this service be requested, AV Wakefield and the Parks Canada Project Manager will determine an hourly fee schedule.
  • Includes all On Shoot Duties above and all additional duties listed in the Statement of Work provided by Parks Canada.
  • Includes all Post Shoot Duties above and all additional duties listed in the Statement of Work provided by Parks Canada.
  • Contractor is responsible for travel to and from locations outlined on the Statement of Work (8 hours over 4 days).
  • The cost per day includes meals, accommodation and expenses related to travel within Banff, Yoho and Kootenay National Parks.
  • If the shooting time for the day goes over 8 hours, each subsequent hour is billed at a rate of $200.00 CAD per hour.

TOTAL FOR 4 DAYS OF SHOOTING:

$7994.84 + GST = $8,394.58

CONTRACTOR DUTIES AT A GLANCE

It has been noted that full Contractor Duties are outlined on the Statement of Work provided by Parks Canada.

PRE SHOOT DUTIES

  • In person or on phone meetings to discuss locations, timing, talent, shot list, props etc.
  • Assist with art direction planning.
  • Assist with styling of talent and if needed.

ON SHOOT DUTIES

  • Apply a variety of compositions, points of view and lighting to create powerful images to appeal to and showcase the outlined Target Markets in the Statement of Work.
  • Adhere and follow the Brand + Image Requirements as outlined in the Statement of Work.
  • Provide a horizontal and vertical version of each scene.
  • When possible, capture candid moments beyond shot list and art direction.
  • Ensure commercial signs or logos are not in or recognizable in photos.
  • Establish requested white balance (5500 Kelvin)
  • Create a positive and fun rapport with talent to assist in achieving best possible content.
  • Capture an ample amount of images for Parks Canada to select 60 images from per full and 30 images per half day of shooting.

POST SHOOT DUTIES

  • Ensure brand names on clothing are removed in post production.
  • Provide Parks Canada with an online gallery in a timely manner to make selects from.
  • Provide 60 images per full day.
  • Provide requested metadata for each image.
  • Supply Parks Canada with their high and low resolution selects in the requested formats on a Parks Canada compatible jump drive delivered by Canada Post on or before April 15, 2021.


CLIENT DUTIES AT A GLANCE

It has been noted that full Client Duties are outlined on the Statement of Work provided by Parks Canada.

PRE SHOOT DUTIES

  • In person or on phone meetings to discuss locations, timing, talent, shot list, props etc.
  • In person location scouting with contractor.
  • Assist with art direction planning.
  • Provide a detailed shot list to the contractor at least 3 full working days prior to the first day of shooting.
  • Ensure well before April 15, 2021 that the contractor is correctly set up for EFT payment for services rendered.

ON SHOOT DUTIES

  • Have a dedicated Parks Canada project manager onsite who also ensures access to all shoot locations.
  • Select and provide models.
  • Obtain model releases and reference images.
  • Source, secure and rent props.

POST SHOOT DUTIES

  • Ensure payment to contractor is completed by EFT within 30 days of delivery of jump drive with images and invoice.
  • Provide contractor with digital copies of all model releases.

TRAIL / ACTIVITY NOTES

WAPTA FALLS

  • Total trail distance in the winter is approximately 9km with 150m of elevation gain.
  • Trail Report 13-02-2021: Snow covered, ice cleats recommended.
  • I have been to Wapta Falls many times in winter.

MARBLE CANYON

  • Marble Canyon trail distance is approximately 1.6km roundtrip with 35m elevation gain.
  • Trail Report 12-02-2021: Snow covered with icy sections, cleats recommended.
  • Mature and burnt forest, with riverside sections, glacier blue water.
